A photo of all ten grandchildren, ages 6 months to 13 years, was taken before we loaded up and parted for our separate ways.
Then four more (dead) scorpions were found. We escaped with nary a sting!
The drive home should have lasted four hours but lasted nearly eight. Need I write more?

Nonetheless, it was worth it! A wonderful, peaceful, unifying, and joyful week was shared to celebrate fifty years of the sacrament of matrimony! What a gift that marriage has been to all of us in the extended family.
Looks like it was a lovely trip! And funny thing, I read it backwards (very unlike me, I usually go in chronological order), and I was wondering about the photos and how well you had taken them (better than the norm). Your SIL takes beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteDear Katherine. Even though I enjoyed every minute of being at the cabin with all of our family, I found myself tearing up over reading your highlights of each day. We are so very blessed to have had 50 years of marriage filled with more joy than sorrow. And now to have 10 amazing grandchildren of whom we are most proud, has filled us with love. God is good. I love you, mom
