Using pastels to draw a picture of the balcony scene at St. Peter's basilica: Habemus papam!
Using markers to color in St. Benedict XVI
I got smarter as the week went by, each day doing more and more of the cutting, pasting, and writing myself. Then the principle of scarcity kicked in and the children began asking to do those tasks.
Joseph spends most of our homeschooling time watching from the Ergo.
But he spends some of the time in his swing!
Each child finished a lapbook! This was the first lapbook we've ever done.
A graphic of "Inside the Conclave" by Tim Meko (click here) was useful, as was the interactive website "How a Pope Is Elected."
Now we await the conclave to begin next week!
For emerging too early from Quiet Time yet again, Mary (4) was assigned to write out a sentence: "I will not come out of Quiet Time." I remarked of the final product, "Wow, you decorated it too!" Mary: "No, that's a picture of me leaping out of Quiet Time!"
I canNOT believe you finished them after such a rough start. You persevering woman!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the picture of Joseph in the ergo! too cute!
I just finished putting our together. I think I might keep Max home on Tuesday and watch the conclave together. I think we will fill in the lap book as we watch the news. My kids like TV too much...lol!
ReplyDeleteSarah: My parents experienced that trait of mine (perseverance) as being "stubborn as the day is long" . . . and not in a good way!
