Now Mary at four years two months also can ride a bike without training wheels!
Now that we've learned that one can easily make one's own balance bike, we think the Striders are probably a waste of money. But the concept behind a balance bike is amazing! We did nothing to teach these kids to ride, they're all self-taught in one month. (Doing a Google search reveals many websites for how to turn a child's bicycle into a balance bike--like this one.)
Go Mary Go! We have a balance bike but the girls haven't been on it too much because of the hill of our driveway and street. I'm going to encourage them more. That is amazing!
ReplyDeleteAwesome results! My older boys both learned to ride two wheelers young, but we didn't use a balance bike. This is inspiring me to modify one of our old bikes for the two year old. He'll be able to keep up much better than on a trike.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!! Clare doesn't ride a bike yet- too nervous!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! We didn't do a balance bike for Emma, so she's still on training wheels. But we got one for Jamie over the summer...but alas, it's still a little too tall for him. I do love the concept behind the balance bike, though!
