Unexpected Grandparent Visit

Because Chris got stuck in Atlanta--discovering that he really isn't in shape to drive himself for four hours (we just didn't realize!)--Chris' dad took a few days out of his busy schedule and drove Chris home in Chris' car, then waited here to be picked up. We had a fun few days.

I'm not sure how soon Pop-Pops will be eager to read "Tacky the Penguin," currently the children's favorite book. Mean Mama and Daddy cap the reading of it to two or three times per day, but Pop-Pops has the patience of Job, so I lost count of how many times he would read the story daily! Fortunately, Pop-Pops surely has the book memorized by now, so won't be hampered by lack of having the book at his house.

On Wednesday, we took the kids to the Charlotte Nature Museum, which is a delightful museum geared toward the youngest crowd. It takes all of 45 minutes to go through the hands-on museum, so it's a very fun experience without using up a whole or even half day. Unfortunately, you will have to imagine the many darling photos I took because my iPhone was re-imaged and all my pictures were lost.

Then we drove Pop-Pops two hours to Greenville where Grandmom met us and we celebrated their forty-eighth wedding anniversary with a sweet dinner. (Chris stayed home because of his healing neck and Mary stayed home because of the sniffles.)
