Interesting (to me) little factoid . . .
At two months old exactly, all three of my babies have been essentially the same weight even though they were born at widely varying weights. They were all fed the same way too (exclusively breastfed).
John: born 6 lbs 10 oz, then 12 lbs 5 oz at two months.
Mary: born 8 lbs 9 oz, then 12 lbs 10 oz at two months.
Margaret: born 8 lbs even, then 12 lbs 8 oz at two months.
Well, it's interesting to me anyway!
Also interesting is that John was almost a full 2 pounds lighter at birth than his sisters but still ended up weighing nearly the same as they did at 2 months! He must have been some eater! ;)
ReplyDeleteAshley: Good eye. Yes, poor John suffered tremendously from my oversupply. For a stretch, he was gaining 2 oz per day (good/average is 1 oz per day)! He was like a stuffed goose and he was in so much pain until I learned about block nursing and got it slightly more under control. Then with the next two babies, I've done block nursing from the start, which has helped.
