'Intolerable!'
[Cut to 15 minutes of nursing later] 'Ahhhh. Much better. May I pose for you like this?'
Six weeks old
A note from Mama: I think this little outfit was a hand-me-down from a sister-in-law. Now I'm often being distracted by clothing and wondering how it was constructed. I see that this outfit is simply a Onesie with a skirt sewed on it for extra cuteness. That would be so easy to do! I'd just buy some plain Onesies (why bother sewing with difficult knit and bothering with snaps when Onesies cost $1 at the consignment store?) and affix a skirt from my stash of scraps of cotton from dresses I've sewn for Mary! Ooo, ooo, then big sister and little sister could wear complementary dresses with very little effort from Mama! I'm now hot on the idea and can hardly wait to get to it . . .
Katherine,
ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely too cute for words!!!
Is Margaret a red head???? She sure looks it in these pictures.
ReplyDeleteElaine: Oh, interesting! I looked at the photos and see what you mean. Margaret was born with nearly black hair like Mary was, so I expect it to lighten up. But I wonder if she might have red undertones like I do under my dark brown hair. That would be neat.
ReplyDeletedefinitely do it, it will take you about 10 minutes!! I did a bunch for estella when she was born. so cute! it's even easier if you encase the raw edge in the onesie itself and softer (no raw edge on baby's skin).
ReplyDeleteShe is just too cute. I love your idea of the onsie dress. You are doing very well, with all your sewing with a new babe in the house:-)
ReplyDeleteKatherine: Oh thanks, but I've had the great relief of receiving meals from my parish ladies ALL THIS TIME! I was given three meals per week for six whole weeks! So, that gave me a lot more time to grab little moments for sewing. Next week I'm really and fully on my own running the house!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you that she is liking her swing. I wish some of that would rub off on Malcolm!
