A Cool Spot to Sit

This afternoon I was talking to Chris in the upstairs hallway about something or other when Mary wandered away from me, into the bedroom and I was just glad to have her out from underfoot, so I ignored how quiet she was. Then I went to look for her.

As I rounded the corner into the bathroom, I found her like this. As soon as she saw me seeing her, she screamed, "No!" This little girl loves climbing into bathroom sinks and she loves brushing teeth. She brushes teeth many times per day (with fluoride-free, children's toothpaste and with her own toothbrush--not mine, as here!).

She was very pleased with herself. Glad she didn't choke to death on the toothpaste cap or get fluoride poisoning from the toothpaste.

We then had her recreate how she got into the sink. She used a stool this time, but honestly she doesn't need one. I mean, look at the knobs on the drawers. They're so easy for her to climb, she's like a billy goat.

Of course, a huge, body-flinging, mother-kicking, screaming tantrum ensued when we were done taking photos and actually took Mary out of the bathroom.

  1. She looks almost blond in these pictures--is her hair lightening up in the sun?

I'm laughing at this post. She sounds like such a fun, spunky little thing! Theo's obsessed with toothpaste, too, but our cabinets have no knobs for him to climb onto the counter, so we've been able to keep it away from him except a couple times a day when it's time to brush teeth. :-)

  5. Oh my goodness. This is SO Emma! She's been climbing into the bathroom sink since she was about 10 months old...and at nearly 4 years old, she's still doing it!
