Botanical Gardens and May Crowning

Our Sunday was wide open because we went to the monthly Latin Mass on Saturday night, so in the morning we visited the University of North Carolina Botanical Gardens. What a find! They were delightful (and free! donation requested only)! We made our way through the greenhouse and one of the gardens, but there was more to see.

Lately Mary has started adopting a faux shy pose sometimes when I take photos.

Later in the afternoon, we went to the F----s' annual May Crowning party. They do such a good job organizing and hosting this party! There were probably 25 children in attendance, plus all their parents. Our kids had a blast.

We sang Immaculate Mary and processed through the back yard, with the children carrying flowers to the Marian statue. Then we prayed a family Rosary.

See Mary's faux shyness again.

  2. I think the last "faux shyness" picture is absolutely priceless!! One of my all-time favorites! :)

I'm glad you all found the Botanical Gardens. John, my husband, has a dream of us going up there one day to see them. I think UNC also has a good arboretum, too.
