Not only does my three-year-old now know how to open door knob safety locks, but my 16-month-old now is tall enough and has the fine motor skills to open regular door knobs. I feel like I should wave the white flag in maternal surrender.
how tall is Mary again? You have my sympathies... 14 month old Andrew likes to get things off my countertops. He can't see them, but he reaches up there and feels around and grabs if there's anything that interests him (and rarely does it not, because siblings usually have crackers or fruit out)
My husband made the mistake of Teaching, can you believe it, teaching my older two kids how to open doors just before they turned 2. My third is now 28 months old and still hasn't figured out how to open doors! We are not planning on clueing her in anytime soon!!

Christine: I just measured. At 17 months old, Mary is 29-1/2 inches tall.
