Today I took John and Mary to a May Crowning for the local homeschooling children, which just happened to be held at our parish. It was lovely.
First we sang Immaculate Mary. Then the First Communicants gave a statue of Mary a crown of flowers. Then the rest of the children processed forward with flowers to lay at her feet. Fr. R--- led us in one decade of the Rosary, the Litany of Our Lady, and then gave a homily to the children. We made a short Act of Consecration to Our Lady, sang Hail Holy Queen, then proceeded to an ice cream social! Also, Chris got to join us part-way through for lunch and ice cream. I don't have great photos of the event because of the general chaos, but it was a lot of fun.
