The weather neared 70 degrees today, so we enjoyed spending some time in the back yard. Our poppy seeds are sprouting outside, as are our marigold seeds sprouting in Dixie cups indoors.
"I put on my pants all by myself!"
Many new flowers are evident in the yard:
Our azaleas in the front yard are pretty but absolutely pale in comparison to those of our various neighbors. We didn't get to fertilizing them this year before they began to bloom (and apparently one isn't supposed to fertilize them while they are blooming).
As I was clearing away some pine straw in the back yard, John and I found a little snake about six inches long hibernating or sleeping under there:
John later got the treat of visiting our subdivision's playground and volleyball court with Daddy where John got to dig, scoop, and rake in the unbelievably giant "sand box."
[I'm having a technical difficulty uploading three photos. Will try again later.]
The garden looks absolutely lovely. I can't wait until we have a home where I can have a garden. It's a dream of mine :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, Katherine! What a cool head you had in the presence of a snake. Was/is it poisonous?
