Katherine, John, and the cats setting out for Charlotte (he was asleep five minutes later):
John gleefully chasing Oliver in the empty apartment today:
The new car seat we put in Chris' car sits more upright than his regular car seat, which is sort of fun for John, but then when he falls asleep, he slumps over in such an uncomfortable way!
I discovered today that John knows the cats' names, something I've wondered about the last few months. After we visited the cats at the apartment today, we drove back to the hotel where I asked him, "Did you like seeing Missy and Oliver?" He paused a long time, then answered, "Meow!" I tested him again at dinner when we were talking about the fact that horses say "neigh" (stimulating conversation); I asked him, "What do Oliver and Missy say?" He quickly answered, "Meow!"
He's just precious! I wish that moves and other trips like that didn't have to be as upsetting to their little systems as they seem to be to ours. I was trying to remember if I did anything to improve that car seat (we have 2)when we got them for the boys. I remember both of their heads down in that seemingly uncomfortable sleep position, too. Other than reclining the actual car seat back as far as it will go and putting our rear seats into a reclining position, I don't think we did much else. On a long trip I think I tried to wedge a towel against the side of the seat and his head, but it didn't work very well.
ReplyDeleteI have seen at One Step Ahead a neck boppy for trips like that. It works for me on an airplane, so maybe one will work for him.

Katherine, only YOU would find the time to blog while organizing an out of state move with a toddler. You amaze me. I'm glad things are going smoothly! Thanks for the update! Keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteThat's the same carseat that Charlie has. it is funny to see them fall asleep and then they seem waaayy too uncomfortable - i'll usually prop his head w/a blanked or jacket, just for *my* sake!
