Thursday #2 in California

Happy Feast of St. Nicholas! This morning St. Nicholas filled our stockings here in Davis and even for Chris in Atlanta! There were some Lindt truffles in my stocking and John was having such fun carrying one of them around--with its sparkling and crackling plastic--that I let him do it, keeping an eye out that he did not eat the plastic. I turned my back and then heard a slurping noise behind me. John had held the truffle so long that it had melted and squished out of its wrapper, such that he could suck on it. I discovered him with chocolate on his face and hands!

On our last full day here, we had a fun lunch visit with my friend Sierra and three of her four girls and a Baskin-Robbins date with my dad. I repeatedly offered John a taste of my chocolate-peanut butter ice cream, but he was uninterested, even after I put a taste in his mouth. After Dad and I ate our ice cream, John toddled all over the empty store with great enthusiasm.
John fiddling with Grandpa's waist pack:
John has been having great fun climbing onto this leather suitcase, then sliding down it. He and I are ready to get home to his daddy!
Please keep us in your prayers tomorrow as we travel.

  1. What a nice Feast of St. Nicholas....just as it should be....John tasting the yummy delicacy of chocolate that St. Nicholas left! I love "catching" them when they suddenly find something they like.

    Prayers for a safe trip.
