Click here for video of John complaining "mama mama" in the car. Normally I would not just sit there while videotaping my unhappy child, but nothing I was doing in the car was making him content anyway, so I figured it was a good time to capture his new language abilities. He says "mama mama" when he is crying, fussing (which is how I level the low-grade complaining in this video), and sometimes when he just wants my attention--like right now as he sits in his Exersaucer and I am typing at the computer. Chris says that when he and John are alone in the early morning and John begins crying, he says "mama" and looks up the stairs (where I am trying to get more sleep in the bedroom). (Sorry that I videotaped in the wrong direction. I cannot rotate digital video.)
So totally bummed we had to miss Fr Demets. I can't believe how fast that happened. Maybe I missed a few announcements being out of town? Seems like it was totally out of the blue though. See you at Mass I hope. We're at the 11:30 today.
ReplyDeleteA couple things. The girls watched this video of John with me. Later I asked Christina to say "mama." So the girls said "Christina, can you say 'Mama' like baby John?"
ReplyDeleteSecond, how is John nursing these days? Christina has only 2 feedings per day (one nighttime and one random) where she is focused and might fall asleep. The rest of the time she is totally distractable and pops off every 45 seconds, and when she buckles down only goes for a couple minutes before she's totally done. It's been a while since I got past the seven month mark nursing so I can't remember if it's an age thing.
I'm so excited about the Latin Mass! I was going to blog about that too, if I get a second.
ReplyDeleteThat video of John is so sweet and sad. I hate it when they start fussing in the car! I think DS started saying, "Mama mama" around that age when he was upset too (obviously he still does, haha). It looks like we have the same carseat- Britax Decathalon?
Even though he's uphappy, it's still very sweet to hear him say "mama mama." Emma's very vocal too and picked up "mama" pretty early.
ReplyDeleteFunny story for you...Emma and I were at Babies R Us one day, standing in line. Emma was in her stroller jabbering away at the little boy (about 2 or 3 years old) in front of us, and she said "mama!" The little boy frowned at her, grabbed HIS Mama's leg, and shouted "She's MY Mama!!!!!!"
